Dear all,

In the ERP configuration guide for the inbound integration of ERP Shipment in SAP TM, I figured out that the Partner function defined in the different output type is "CR but it should be LS for "Logical system".... Can you confirm me this point?

Loading / Unloading duration based on MTr

Hi Experts,

I just wanted to know whether can I define the loading or unloading duration only based on Means of Transport? E.g. Bigger truck will take 1 Hr and smaller truck will take 30 Minutes to load. I tried with condition of type /SCMTMS/FU_LOAD_DURA but this always refers to freight unit data and hence calculates the duration based on number of freight units in an order.

Has anyone tried defining this purely based on vehicle irrespective of the number of freight units or the weight of freight units going in the vehicle?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hello Sirs,

After created a sales order in ECC and transferred to TM via XI, the queue remains with STOP status. Entering in transaction /SAPPO/PPO2 I’m facing the error “Schedule Line Item 100001 delivery date is missing”. The delivery date is filled in ECC side.

Is there something that I need to check in TM regarding delivery date?

Thanks.

TM reported event message not send to EM

Hello,

I have customized expected events for example Arrive at Origin & Arrive at Destination TSP, when I report both these events from EM cockpit successfully sent to TM. Where as when I report these events from FU Execution Tab only event Arrive at Destination TSP sent to FO and EM as well, but same way when I report event Arrive at Origin sent to FO but not send to EM event handler, but this event type in Define Used Bus. Proc. Types, Appl. Obj. Types, and Evt Types-> set to EM Relevance of Event type in General Data tab and Event Mgmt. Relevance tab Evt Mgmt Rel. Method set to Check Function (Function Module) & EM Rel. Function configured to customized FM.

Above settings are same for event type Arrive at Destination TSP reporting events are send from TM to EM vice versa. But Arrive at Origin event message not able to send from TM to EM, I don't see any log message in SLG1 or /n/SAPTRX/ASAPLOG, any idea what I might be missing?

Event when I try to debug in program /SAPTRX/LASC2U05 it doesn't stops but for other event type it stopped in break point. What might an issue?

I appreciate your help on this.

Thank you.

Strategic Freight Procurement is focused on the target group of shippers as TM customer. The shipper is sending Freight Agreement RFQ's to carriers/LSP's in order to create/renew a Freight Agreement for a certain trade lane, mode of transport , etc . The carriers/LSP's will respond to the RFQ and the shipper can then decide which offer will get awarded.

A Technical question :

Whenever I am changing Vehicle resource/MOT ,it is triggering subcontracting status and changing it from sent to carrier assigned . When I am changing vehicle resource , it automatically identify and change MOT .

I am wondering where is the code is written which trigger it .

I found 2 action on TOR level in /BOBF/Conf_UI

Action 1 - ASSIGN_VEHICLE_RES ---- This will assign vehicle resources

Action 2 - SET_SUBC_STATUS_TSP_ASSIGNED - this set subcontracting status to carrier assigned

When I went through code of action 1 , I did not find code which is calling Action 2 .

I am wondering how action 1 triggers action 2 . Where is the code .

Thanks for your help .

Shipment cost allocation to deliveries

$

Hello,

We have some shipments with more than one delivery Inside and different behavior depending on it:

-If deliveries have different shipping point in it, the cost allocation of the shipment cost will be allocated to both deliveries

-If deliveries have the same shipping point, the cost allocation will be made only on one delivery

I would like to understand where we can set up the fact to have the cost allocation to be made on all deliveries of the shipment.

Could you please help?

Thank you

Hello experts.

I have a problem concerning the process to fill the tables in SAP TM 9.0 for BW extraction

I performed the procedures described in http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-45442

- Set BW Relevance to SPRO to document types.

- I ran the initialization tables Tx. / SCMTMS / BWIs

- I ran filling tables

   / SCMTMS / BWIU_TOR, Transportation Order

   / SCMTMS / BWIU_TRQ, Transportation Request

   / SCMTMS / BWIU_SFIR, Freight Settlement

   / SCMTMS / BWIU_CFI, Forwarding Settlement

The TM datasources are active Tx. RSA5 and are checked in the Tx.RSA6

when I run the Tx. RSA3 datasources described below, drawn 0 (zero) selected data records , although there are many SAP TM generated documents.

empty freight unit list to create deivery proposal

Dear experts,

we try to implement the following integration ERP-TM in TM 9.2:

erp sales order --> tm otr --> tm freight unit --> tm freight order --> delivery proposal -->...

We start delivery proposal creation from NWBC - Overview road freight order (button "Create Deliveries in ERP"),

But when report "Create Deliveries in ERP" appears -- there is no freight unit for processing and no any explanation for empty list.

In the same time transportation cockpit with the same selection profile shows us a list of freight units.

Also, we don't have any blocks for delivery, freight order type marked as relevant for shipment creation in SAP ERP.

Does anyone have an idea what we need to check?

Thanks in advance

Navigating from UI frontend (FPM) to Backend (BOPF)

Although the primary motivation of this blog is to find out the database table where data is persistent against which we see in the UI.  However I would also like to address some of the key aspects of our daily needs in the development environment too. Therefore it will take you through step by step approach.

Starting from UI (Floorplan Manager Applications) -> Floorplan manager BOPF Integration (FBI) -> BOPF (Business Object Processing framework).

Use Case:  How to find out the DB table in which Capacity Selection profile (CAPA) settings are stored?

To see the capacity selection profile, go to GUI easy access / NWBC -> Application Administration ->Planning -> Planning Profile Settings -> Capacity Selection Settings

1. What is the application/component configuration of a web application that you are working with?

Answer to this question would also help you to find and choose which component configuration to be enhanced/customized whenever you have been asked to add new ‘Z’ Fields to particular section(Technically called as GUIBB) of application layout.

Launch the application and navigate to page/area/tab for which you are interested in the application.

Keep cursor and Right click -> Select Technical help -> Popup is displayed with Technical details.

Technical Help.png

Here you should consider and look at Component configuration of Current View.

Please note Component customizing will be displayed if there had been customization done before.

Click on Component Configuration link -> Component Configuration is displayed -> Here either we can enhance the component configuration by choosing Enhance from ‘Additional Functions’ button choice or choose CUSTOMIZE_COMPONENT in the URL to apply administrator personalization and to incorporate new ‘Z’ fields.

2. What is the BO object & corresponding BO node that you are working with?

Answer to this question will also help you whenever you have been asked to enhance the application layout to add new ‘Z’ fields and that field value should be saved in the database, then you should know which BO Object and node should be considered.  You can achieve the same using append structure with new ‘Z’ fields to Extension Include structure (Extension include is visible to nodes for which setting ‘Node can be enhanced’ is true) of that particular node and then you can write required logic by creating a determination on the same node.

Click on ‘Feeder Class Parameters’ button in the General Settings-> Popup is displayed -> Take FBI View name from here.

Feeder class Parameters.PNG

Go to SE84 transaction -> Search for Component Configuration with FBI View Name -> Launch the Dsiplay configuration from SE84 -> Below screen will be displayed.

FBI Configuration.PNG

3. What is the DB table in which data is stored?

Take the Business Object name from above screenshot and go to transaction BOBF or /BOBF/CONF_UI.

DB Table from BOPF.PNG

4. How to cross-check am I correct?

Go to Transaction – BOBT or /BOBF/TEST_UI to check and cross-verify the data what you see in the application is same as what you see here.

We can check the data entries in table from transaction SE16 as well.

Appreciate your feedback and comments.

SAP TM Gantt chart - Layouts

$

0

The central element in the Gantt chart customizing is the Gantt chart layout. It controls the whole look and feel of the Gantt chart in TM. It is referred by the page layout in the Gantt chart area. What are the components of a Gantt chart layout and how to set up your own Gantt chart layout? This blog post should guide you through the customizing activity “Define Layouts for Gantt Chart”.

     pic1.png

Let's begin with the hierarchies. A hierarchy contains object which are then displayed in the same table (selection & chart panel). As the name already indicates it’s possible to combine some objects in a hierarchical manner. So it’s possible to show freight orders above assigned trailer units, trucks above coupled trailers or vice versa. On the hierarchy root you have to define the used field list for the hierarchy which controls all the columns. On the hierarchy levels you have to define the objects you want to display. The level attribute is used to determine a hierarchy.

Take for example the default customizing hierarchy “Truck with Trailer and Trailer (SAP_TRK_W_TRL_A_TRL)”. In this hierarchy the trucks and trailer are on the same level while trailers are also shown on the below level. The result looks as following: the table shows all selected trucks with the coupled trailers below and afterwards all selected trailers on top level. In the SAP default customizing “and” always indicates that objects are shown on the same level; “with” indicates a hierarchical relationship.

     29-09-2015 15-31-01.jpg

After you created hierarchies you can use them for building views. Views should make it very easy for the planner to switch between different aspects of our transportation plan. Currently it’s possible to define views as single or dual view. A single view shows one hierarchy in the full area size whereby a dual view combines two hierarchies.

For a dual view you have to maintain whether the hierarchies should be displayed vertically besides or horizontally above each other. Furthermore you have to maintain two ratios for a dual view. On the view level the ratio which controls the size of the selection panel in comparison to the chart panel. On the view hierarchies a ratio how much space is consumed of which hierarchy have to get maintained for a dual view.

Finally you can create a Gantt chart layout. The Gantt chart layout consists of views and hierarchies. The views should contain all the perspectives the planner usually needs to reach frequently in a planning session. All the selected views will be available in the view drop down list in the Gantt chart to easily switch from one to another. Important to know is that all the hierarchies of the selected views will automatically be available in the hierarchy drop down list. The planner should be able to choose from all the hierarchies he can reach by views all the time. So you will not have to maintain all the hierarchies of your views again in the sub node hierarchies! There you can define additional hierarchies the planner will only need very rare and therefore doesn’t need to easily reach them.

  pic3.png

The layout root level contains some attributes which controlling the whole Gantt chart:

  • Initial view – The view which is displayed when enter the transportation cockpit initially
  • Color schemes for activities and documents – Referring to the color scheme customizing; these schemes control the color of all the activities and documents as well as the pattern used for different execution statuses
  • Color schemes for resources – Also referring to the color scheme customizing; this scheme control the color of non-working and downtimes as well as the colors for overlap, under- or overutilization notifications
  • Cursor line – Controls whether a vertical line is drawn at the cursor position (this can be changed during the planning session)
  • Current time – Controls whether a vertical dashed line is drawn at the current time (this can be changed during the planning session)
  • Synchronize Scrolling – Controls whether in dual views a horizontal scrolling (scrolling on the time axis) of one hierarchy should be synchronized to the second hierarchy
  • Utilization – Controls whether it’s possible to open the utilization charts at all in your Gantt chart
  • Zoom – Controls the initial zoom level. A common misunderstanding is that when you choose “1 day” the Gantt chart shows one day in total on the time axis. The time slot you choose in the customizing will control the time within two vertical lines. If you are interested at all your selected orders in the time horizon you can also choose “Automatic”. With this setting the Gantt chart will analyze all your selection and zoom for showing the begin of the first order and the end of the last order in the planning horizon

Weight restriction by OD pair or route

$

All,

We have a requirement that the weight loaded on a rail car going to a specific location (plant/shipping point) cannot exceed certain weight (e.g. 160,000LB) due to the rail track restriction. The rail car resource however is a regular one whose capacity is the usual one (e.g. 185,000 LB) therefore resource master cannot be updated nor can we use an incompatibility given the possible types of incompatibility provided. Is there a way we can ensure rail cars exceeding this weight are not assigned to an RCU (or a freight order) if they are destined from a certain location to a certain location? We are using default routes so if it's possible to do at a route level that will work too as we can configure unique route for this case.

EWM and TM integration

Dear Experts,

We know that in the SCE platform, TM 9.1 and EWM 9.2 will run in the same Instance. Does this mean that we do not need a Middleware to connect EWM with TM. If I create a Delivery in EWM, would the Delivery be passed on to TM (to create a DTR) without passing through Middleware.

Thanks a lot for your insights

Loading and unloading duration based on schedules

$

Hi,

We are creating schedules of type 1000 and then based on the ports sequence maintained , the freight booking is created referring the schedules.

Now is there any way in the ocean freight booking/schedules  we can maintain loading and unloading duration/No of days  for respective ports .

Kindly do not suggest to use planning profile settings for loading and unloading duration determination logic.

Enforce a stop without transshipment

$

0

Hello everyone,

do you know a possibility to enforce an additional stop in a freight order without having loading/unloading activities or transshipment there?

The background of my question is the following scenario: We have a larger site with multiple loading points, but only one central check-in/out building. Freight orders shall contain the check-in/out building as a stop. This is because we want to model check-in and check-out as events.

The most straightforward approach that came to my mind was: Group all locations on the site in one zone, create intrazone lane and a lane from the zone to the check-in/out location. Only from that location there are lanes to all the destinations we might want to ship to. But this is only possible if I assign the check-out location as a transshipment location for the zone as well as for the destinations. In planning, this results in two freight orders being built, one going from zone locations to check-out location, the other going from there to the final destination. But this is not what I want to achieve. I just want an additional stop in a single freight order where (from planning point of view) nothing happens. Any ideas how to achieve this?

Freight Booking type to be used for Bulk cargo movement

$

0

During the various implementation project I have worked in SAP TM, we have encountered questions from various customers about how SAP handles multi pick up and delivery functionality for bulk ocean booking scenario. Based on this I have decided to post a content on the process flow and set up required to execute this process:

a) Process flow-This process is valid only for bulk shipment ( for both shipper and LSP scenario) with multiplke loading and unloading ports since the scenario is related to multi pick up and delivery.Let us consider two shipments from same shipper are loaded together in Germany at port of loading and then discharged/unloaded at different ports and finally delivered to two consignees in USA.Thus in this case the two bulk shipments ( say two FU i.e FU1 and FU2)  from same shipper ( say shipper 1) are loaded in same pick up freight order ( FO1) and same ocean freight booking ( FB1) at POL ( port of loading in Germany).

Now the cargo items are then unloaded at the relevant ports ( POD-Port of discharge) i.e FU1 is unloaded at port of Miami and FU2 unloaded at port of Boston. The cargo is now shipped to two different consignee locations ( CU1 and CU2) by using two different delivery FO ( FO2 and FO3)

b) How SAP handles this:We have the enhanced functionality in SAP TM 9.1 which handles the above scenario since this functionality is only supported for ocean freight booking without consolidation ( i.e port to port shipment). Below enclsoed are the settings to be made in the freight booking:

i) Tranport mode category should be 3 and FB for multi PU/DL should be M as highlighted below:

transport mode category.png

ii) Consolidation settings are P at both source and destination

consolidation.png

iii) Web dynpro application configuration should be specified as /SCMTMS/FRE_BOOK_OCEAN_BULK in the corresponding FB type.

iv) In order to create the multipick/delivery bulk ocean freight booking quickly from the forwarding order tab, maintain the relevant FB type as default document type for main carriage stage of forwarding order as highlighted below:

freight booking type default.png

v) Based on config iii, we have now the overview screen available with new fields for laycan start and laycan end dates as hown below:

overview tab.png

c)Test steps:

i)In order to plan the bulk cargo movement as per the scenario, we navigate to tranbsportation cockpit and select the corresponding transportation requirement/FU in the FU screen.Since there are 2 FU, FU1 and FU2 so different loading and unloading locations will be screen in the cockpit

ii) Select the pushbutton-Create freight document from the FU screen after selecting both FU1 and FU2.

iii) FB gets created initially and can be viewed in the FB screen and the relevant details can be  seen in the overview screen in the lower half of the right side quandrant. Here details about respective FU, loadinga nd unloading locations along with lay dates are also available.Important crago details are also displayed here.

iv) We can also create a worklist for multipick up/delivery scenario by creating a new queries based on intermediate stops ( by setting both locations for source and destination location checked)

Will appreciare feedback on this document and award points if useful
